red amnesiac book (rare limited edition)
Thom with Stanley have got a Grammy for that best package thing ;)

William Stone. Green plastic watering can
<oct.96>
this one is out of date and out of print a long ago, but still nice. maybe the most 'stylish' and designed among others. have a bunch pf nice illustrations.

Nick Johnstone. Radiohead: An illustrated biography
<nov.97> 48 p.
a nice book, also out-of-print (the used copies are often availale at amazone). I was able to lay my hands onto one copy, and scanned all its best

Steve Malins. Coming up for air
<1997>
another one released before OKC success, another one out of print. can be highly recommended for its original illustrated part. lots of blonde and red-haired Thom! I've traded my copy from singinglizard, so was able to scan everything that was worth it.

Alma Hazlewood. Radiohead: star profile
a 100-page booklet..not very intresting, in fact. just collectors item. and surely the pics.

Jonathan Hale. From a great height
<march 1999>
doubtlessly, this one is most comprehensive authorised radiohead biography. it is written "in the key of facts only", as jonny once asked of the journo.
lots of nice colour pics also. the print is 99, so its kinda out-dated now, after Kida / Amnesiac period.
(i was lucky to get one :)

Martin Clarke. Le coeur et l'ame
a french edition..

Martin Clarke. Hysterical and useless
<1998> 256 p., 24$
re-issued in 2001 and 2006, and updated to the HTTT period. contains lots of b-w illustrations, some of them are rare, others are not. the author have filtered tonns of press, but seems never talked to the band itself, so, his story is compiled mainly from the quotes by Thom and the band.

Mac Randall. Exit music
<june 2000>  200 p.
Randall is a well-known, good journalist, he's said that he kinda penetrated deeply into their inner space etc...not sure. but the story is really detailed, and well-written. Randall also researched lots of press publications, made a series of interviews with the band and many other ppl involved. surely is recommended -- after reading the Hales's one.

Alex Ogg. Standing on the Edge
<may 2000> 224 p.

Pierre Loechner. Radiohead A to Z
a french edition..

Jesus Llorente. Screaming pop song
also, a book of sorts... what a title, er....

James Doheny. Back to save the universe (stories behind every song)
<jul. 2002> 25$
a solid hard-bound edition which includes discography, more than 100 black and colour pics + a story about each their song in particular. naybe, a good choice you should try. you can take a chance at amazone.com.

Radiohead: in their own words / Ed. Susan Black, Ian Taylor
<may 2002> Omnibus-press. 104 p., 14$.
a good one. lots of black and white pics inside, mostly the new ones (i mean, rare ones - not to say for the recent years!). a solid text content, no way bothered with journo's stupidities. group member's cites only. yeah!!!!!!

Tim Footman. Radiohead: visual documentory
<sept.2002> 'Chrome Dreams'. 100 p., 16 $.
it is called 'visual' but that's a trick, its called 'documentory' but its nonsuch, it is just a gimmick to take your money! now, you are aware ;)  most of the illustrations are widely-spread jpeg's from www, they are dark foggy and serve as a background to the text. so, the story looks 'illustrated', but it is not. the bio is not so fat, too! (wast thanx to hidden_shine for getting me acquainted with this one, as well)
another book by this author, see also: 'Welcome to the Machine: OK Computer...'

Strobe-lights and blown speakers: the Music and Art of Radiohead. Essays / Editor J. Tate
<2005>
lots of newly stuff. you should check the pulk-pull site for more details.
    the book is forthcoming in Ashgate Publishing.
    well.. guess, i should start saving money for this one..

books,
somehow connected with RH

St.Donwood. Catacombs of terror
<aug. 2002> 144 p., 13$ for a paperback edition
pulp-fiction novel from Stanley Donwood, radiohead designer and web-master. you can check for it at w.a.s.t.e.

Doug Richmond. How to disappear completely and never be found
<1986>
the title is well-talking for itself..... there's opinion that Thom was reading this book while OKC tour...

T. Pynchon «Crying of lot 49»
(there' exist two russian translations -- SPb, 2001 and i donno exactly some else). a famouse american post-modern author, famouse book. it's well known for, the name for official radiohead fan-club W.A.S.T.E. was taken from this one.
w.a.s.t.e. means, 'we await silent tristerous empire' = .... you can look inside it for all 3 versions of different editions' coverby the way.
    its a REALLY serios reading. i realy can't read it up to the end (((

Naomi Clein «No Logo»
there' exists a russian translation -- M., 2003
this book is heads' fave. a strongly political text brings to the light the ugly shapes, origins & consequences of TNC' power / globalisation. book is also known as "the anti-globalisation bible". herefrom their brand-free tent tour..
    all band members have read it and recommend to their fans, who want to know better what world they're living in..who is to blame and what shall we to do.
